Mise en scene In 'Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark'

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. This is absolutely a classic movie of adventure and action. I have seen the full series of Indiana Jone, but the most successful one is it, the first one.

   The first two questions relate specifically to the opening scene of the film

     

      In the opening scene we do not see Indiana Jones’ face for some time. Even without this factor the audience begin to have a good idea of what he is like. With this in mind what elements of figure, expression and movement tell us about his character before he is finally revealed? (Don’t forget what the other characters reactions can tell us)

Review of Shining

Shining, I must admire that it is a very good horror movie. At the beginning of it, I totally think it is a boring movie which just has some scary music for  the background. But what next happened excatly prove I was wrong. The director(Stanley Kubrick) use the bright scene to describe the most successful honor movie in the world, that is the most increditable point. In the whole part of it, it is so diffcult to find some darkline in this movie. But we can still feel the deep terror atomsphere.

The good honor film also cannot ignore the actors perform. For example, this woman is in the foreground and the shot size is the close up. So we can see very clearly about her facial language and the action. She looks scared, hopeless, crazy. Although she holds a knife, we can know it is not stable. She is tremble. All of this make it possible to let us know it is really the truth.

Honestly, I cannot understand the whole meaning of this movie. Then I rewatch some details again and it is real fantastic. Ostensibly, the bad man died. But it is not true. The shining is Tony, he is always in the Danny's heart and never gone. All of this is arranged by him. This time, the darkness win.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone(Comedy and magic perfect combination)

Hello guys, it's me! I couldn't told you how boring is today, cause I got up in the noon and remember I do nothing with my homework! So after a quick made-by-myself lunch then I was fighting with the boring homework. Look a such beautiful weather day it really make me mad. I definitely want to hang out but when I finish this bitch it's already a dark day. So I saw a film, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone! One of the reason I chose it is caused it has my favourite Hollywood comedy actor Jim Carrey.

However, he is not the hero of this great film. It's Steve Carell! These two famous actors are very good friend since dinosaur. Because this is not the first movie they play together. The first one I ever seen is the Bruce Almighty (2003). That is also a great comedy movie.

In that movie, Carrey played the positive role and Carell played the negative role. But this time, they are in the counterpart.

The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, the movie talks about the competition of the magicians. They use their innovation and the performance ability to win the audience attention. In this movie we can see the love, self-important, jealous, hate and so on. But in this story the director really want we see the friendship is more important than anything else in the world. As a result, it defeats the independent talent.

I couldn't tell you more cause it is really fantastic and I absolutely recommend this film for you. By the way, Carell and Carrey's magic show opponents play is wonderful. Hope they have more co-operations in the near future~ lol.

 

Review of American Beauty

American Beauty.
A definitely classic film in the film history. It came out in 1999 and got the 72th Oscar. From this movie, I can see a variety of people's daily life in America. It uses a middle class family as a example to show the real society. All of the elements are so perfect that make this film wonderful. My favourite scene: A used plasitc rubbish bag was flied by the wind in the sky and looks no where to go.

Setting: garden, path, little trees, fence, briefcase.(an American house)

Face: no smiling, serious, confused, impatient.

Position: centre screen, foreground, loose framing

Costume: suit, tie, watch.

Setting: bathroom, bath, petals, sun, ray of light.

Face:1.man: affetto, delicated. 2. woman: smiling, fascinating, concentred.

Position: tight framing, foreground, centre screen.

Costume: 1. man: shirt. 2. woman: naked.

Review of the La Jetee

Today, we saw a old film which was came out in 1962. It is 'La Jetee'.
The main story is talk about the hero saw a man dead in his early time. And then the 3rd World War breakout. It is like a old fiction movie because the story is not tell the truth. It cannot make sense in the mordern society.
As for me this film is just show a man's whole life, in the end of it, everything is clear. We can know the man who was dead in the hero's early time is himself. In his life, he survived, he back to the past and went to the future, he met a woman and fall in love, and saw his dead.  That was what the 28 mins told me.

 I think it is not very good film as a whole. However, it still has some innovate part in it. For example, it used pictures to display this movie without acting. And these profermers really make it as a true story. Their facial expression and behaviour make me believe that this is true when I saw it at the first time. All of these photographs have a good angle choice. The write and black scenes exactly make it classical but I don't like it.

The sixth sence. A film was made out in 1999.  Bruce Willis played a leading role and act as a psychologist. That film talk about a kid have a special ability and help the ghost to achieve their wishes with the psychologist. I think these two films are pretty simliar, but I prefer the second one. It's more vivid than the La Jetee and more reality. So I recommend this for you. Hope you to see it. That's all thanks.
